Ed is a Sports, Venues and Events specialist with 15 years’ experience in the field across a variety of high profile public facilities and events in Australia and internationally.

Ed’s international experience encompasses working on the London Olympics and 3 years in Macau on the opening of the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel including a state of the art 15,000 seat Arena. His background in Australia includes significant commercial experience including being the Venue Manager during the USD$600m refurbishment of the 50,000 seat Adelaide Oval (Australia’s most modern stadium) and most recently leading Sport and Recreation activity across Australia’s premier urban park, Centennial Park servicing in excess of 400 sporting clubs and organisations across 120 different facilities.

In 2016 Ed joined one of Asia’s leading sports marketing firms, Total Sports Asia(TSA) to lead a developing Stadium Consulting division bringing TSA’s 20 years of Asia based commercial partnerships and branding expertise to the Venue management space. Currently Ed is heavily involved in developing commercial partnerships for the Kuala Lumpur Sports City.

Stadium operators and event management companies are always trying to cramp in as many events as possible in order to maximize revenue. However, careful planning needs to be done to make sure that the stadium infrastructure is not over-burdened. For instance, the pitch must be able to rest and recuperate while there must be enough time set aside to prepare the various temporary structures, etc. This session look into effective scheduling and what organisers can do to minimize any down-time without affecting the pitch and other infrastructure.
